For over 20 years, the J. Kyle Braid Leadership Foundation provides thousands of high school student-leaders with a variety of interactive training experiences to prepare them for a lifetime of leadership. Founded in 1994 by Ken and Colleen Braid to continue their son's legacy, JKB Experiential Education Foundation is rooted in the tenants of strength, humility, compassion and service. This 5-day summer program (preceding a student's junior year) is dedicated to developing, nurturing and strengthening students through a series of training sessions and team activities that can be leveraged for the remainder of their high school years and beyond.
The JKB experience costs approximately $1000 for each student-athlete; however, that cost is covered through fundraising efforts and donations from organizations such as the Lake Park Athletic Boosters.
Once again, DVC schools are working together to jointly fundraise for their respective students. The JKB event will include reserve tickets in sections 102 and 103 to watch the Chicago White Sox take on the Baltimore Orioles. Each ticket is $30 and will be delivered in May.
Parade/Field Pass Opportunity
For an extra $5 per ticket, a field pass will be distributed for a parade/on-field experience available prior to the game. This ticket is an opportunity for JKB guests to walk around the warning
track of the field an hour before game time - fun for all the JKB students, alumni, family and friends!
