LPHS Booster Sponsors

The Lake Park Booster Club has developed a sponsorship program guided by the objectives set forth, as a result of this program outline, via the Lake Park Board of Education’s approval.  This sponsorship has been written as a guide for starting and managing this program and will also serve as the basis for a separate, detailed marketing plan.

Summary

The following is a summary of the main points outlined in this plan:

• The objectives of the Lake Park Booster Club Sponsorship Program are to generate revenue via sponsorship support that fall within the guidelines set forth by the Lake Park Board of Education.
• The mission of the Lake Park Booster Club Sponsorship Program is to provide needed equipment, facility enhancement and training tools to the various athletic clubs at Lake Park High School.
• The keys to success for the Lake Park Booster Club Sponsorship Program are marketing and networking, responsible and tasteful sponsorship awards programs, open communication between the Lake Park Booster Club and the Lake Park Board of Education, and proper and appropriate recognition of our sponsors.

Objectives

The objectives of this sponsorship program are:

• To provide a greater source of revenue than currently realized through membership fees, concession sales and spirit wear sales so that long-term goals may be achieved.  Such as:  a much needed, improved football concession stand, a press box for both the girls’ softball program and boys’ baseball program, a new concession stand to serve girls’ and boys’ tennis and boys baseball, etc.
• The intended audience is mainly business owners within the Lake Park school district boundaries; but may also include individual families interested in donating to the Lake Park Booster Club in greater amounts than what is currently available.
• Reach Other Potential Audience Members
• Other national corporate athletic equipment and materials manufacturers or distributors would also be contacted, i.e. the sponsorship created between UnderArmor and Naperville Central. 
• Encourage Booster members to determine whether their companies have matching or contribution programs for non-profit organizations.
• Contact organizations like Home Depot, Sports Authority, Marcus Theaters, Meijer, that lie just beyond our education boundaries but might be willing to sponsor donations or equipment if they get some advertising benefit

Mission

The Lake Park Booster Club Sponsorship Program’s mission is simple and straightforward:

• Purpose - The Lake Park Booster Club exists to help enrich all Lake Park athletic clubs through financial support and volunteerism.
• Vision - By providing additional forms of revenue via a Lake Park Booster Club Sponsorship Program, long-term goals can be achieved through stable and responsible sponsorship so that Lake Park’s equipment and facilities are equal to, or better than, those of the competitors visited throughout the year.

Keys to Success

The keys to success for the Lake Park Booster Club Sponsorship Program are:

• Marketing and networking a sponsorship program that may include:  program print recognition and ad placement via an in-house controlled “Game Day” type programs, reserved seating programs, reserved parking programs, Booster web site recognition, indoor and outdoor signage at appropriate venues, etc. (Any signage consideration would need to be approved by the Lake Park Principal(s) and/or Superintendent.)
• Responsible and tasteful sponsorship programs are the key to achieving our goals and keeping a program such as this in check.  Facility / equipment branding will not be entertained nor considered.  However, “in recognition” plaques may be considered on per item basis and only with Lake Park Board of Education approval.
• Open communication between the Lake Park Booster Club and the Lake Park Board of Education be on-going, particularly throughout the initial development of this program so that this sponsorship program is something that Lake Park can be proud of.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this plan projects a trend-setting solution that is being capitalized on by booster clubs nationwide. 

As tax bases start to shrink and state funding all but disappears from school budgets, creating a program now and developing a strong Lake Park Booster Club foundation, will help to stave off any shortfalls to the athletic programs that may occur years down the road.

In addition, by implementing a Lake Park Booster Club Sponsorship Program will allow an avenue to realize a more profitable and efficient way to replace non-line budget item-type athletic equipment and create much needed facility enhancements.
